The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) has announced the relocation of the 2026 Men's African Nations Championship from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), to Tunis, Tunisia. This decision comes amid ongoing public health concerns that have delayed preparations in the original host country.

Originally scheduled for September 7–21 in Kinshasa, the tournament will now take place in Tunis from September 13 to 26. The CAVB Board of Administration confirmed the change in a statement released on Thursday.

The 25th edition of the continental championship will feature 16 national teams, including Rwanda, Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Egypt, Cameroon, DRC, Chad, Kenya, Ghana, Gambia, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and the new hosts Tunisia.

Rwanda’s national team is intensifying preparations ahead of the championship, with the final squad expected to be announced by August 25. The current provisional roster consists of 19 players, following the exclusion of Willy Rukundo, Venuste Gatsinzi, and D’Amour Munyamahoro. Ultimately, only 14 players will represent Rwanda in Tunis.
