AFC Leopards CEO Ronald Namai has expressed strong confidence that the club will finally break its long-standing title drought and win the Kenya Premier League (KPL) in the upcoming 2026/27 season.
The club, which last won the league 28 years ago, narrowly missed out on the 2025/26 title after finishing second with 64 points—12 points shy of their target and six points behind champions Gor Mahia.
Namai acknowledged the team's shortcomings in the previous season but highlighted strategic improvements and key signings aimed at strengthening the squad. New additions include midfielder Taddeo Lwanga from Uganda's Vipers SC, defender Robinson Musungu from Mara Sugar, and Eric Naaman Balecho from Bandari FC.
Namai stated:
- "Our goal for next season is to win the title. We gave our best last season, but it wasn't our time. We are now better prepared."
- "We missed our target of 76 points last season due to tactical errors we've since addressed."
- "Beyond the league, we aim to compete strongly in all tournaments we enter. Fans should expect a successful season."
He also mentioned the inclusion of foreign players to inject fresh experience and energy into the team as part of their comprehensive approach to achieving success.
