Despite hosting nearly 18% of the global population, Africa accounts for only about 6% of worldwide energy consumption. Over 600 million Africans still lack electricity access, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa where rates often fall below 50%. Critical Minerals and the Green Economy

Africa’s deposits of critical minerals like cobalt, copper, and lithium are vital to the global clean energy transition. The Democratic Republic of the Congo produces more than 70% of the world’s cobalt, essential for electric vehicle batteries.
