Mikel Arteta has reassured Arsenal supporters that there is no cause for concern regarding his future at the club, even as he enters the final year of his contract.
The Spanish coach, who ended Arsenal's 22-year Premier League title drought in May 2026, is yet to sign a new deal despite widespread expectations following that historic achievement.
Speaking ahead of Arsenal's Community Shield clash against Manchester City, Arteta emphasized his contentment with the club and his intention to remain.
Arteta said: "They don't have to worry about any of that, because I want to be here. I am extremely happy. I feel very grateful to work with the people that I work with and when we have the possibility, we will resolve that. And that's it."
The manager indicated that his focus has been on strengthening the squad during a busy transfer window rather than contract negotiations.
Arsenal have bolstered their title-winning team by signing Newcastle's Bruno Guimaraes, Club Brugge forward Christos Tzolis, making Piero Hincapie's loan permanent, and acquiring Illan Meslier on a free transfer.
Though attempts to secure Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers and Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior were unsuccessful, Arteta remains confident in the squad's quality and the club's ambitions.
He added: "I am really happy with the squad, the players that I have and I am really happy with the ambition of the club. There is zero question about that and we have shown that in the manner we have tried to act, but I think we need to do it our own way."
Arteta acknowledged the need to build on Arsenal's strengths and address areas requiring improvement, emphasizing a tailored approach to competing effectively against financially powerful rivals.
