Berlin authorities have identified a suspect in the deadly incident where a vehicle was driven into a crowd at a Pride event, leaving one woman dead and 16 others injured.

The 21-year-old suspect, named Abdul B., is described as slim, approximately 1.9 meters tall, with black hair, wearing a black hoodie and white pants. Police warn he may be armed and dangerous, urging the public not to approach him.

The attack occurred around 10 pm local time near Tiergarten park in central Berlin. Witnesses reported a white vehicle striking attendees before fleeing the scene. Police found the abandoned car crashed into a tree within the park.

Authorities have expanded the search across the entire city, deploying thousands of officers in a manhunt for Abdul B., who is believed to have connections to Islamist groups. No arrests have been made, and the motive remains unclear.

Following the incident, the Pride event was canceled and the area near Brandenburg Gate evacuated. Emergency services treated about 30 people for shock, while several victims sustained life-threatening injuries.
