The search for a seven-year-old girl who went missing in Nyeri County ended tragically when her body was discovered in Guara Dam two days after she disappeared.
The girl was found floating by a herder grazing livestock on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. She had been reported missing following a suspected drowning on July 26.
Police confirmed there were no visible external injuries on the body. It was retrieved and taken to Nanyuki Referral Hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is pending.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the child's death but are currently treating the case as a drowning incident until further results are available.
