Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has refuted claims that he has quit the Linda Mwananchi movement, affirming his ongoing involvement in the political group founded by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.

In a podcast interview on Sunday, July 26, 2026, Amisi emphasized that he is the founder of Linda Mwananchi, describing it as his "baby" and expressing a commitment to preserving its foundational goals.

Founder’s Role and Vision

Amisi stated, "I am still part and parcel of the movement. It is my baby. I have always said that I am the founder. People think I am joking until they realise it is actually true." He explained that his critical stance towards the movement is motivated by a desire to protect its original mission, especially as he believes some members have lost sight of the initial objectives.

He further clarified that the movement was created to represent Kenyans tired of legacy politicians and to advocate for the removal of President William Ruto.

New Political Initiative

Despite his reaffirmed loyalty to Linda Mwananchi, Amisi recently announced plans to lead the People’s Renaissance Movement (PRM), which he described as part of the broader Linda Mwananchi formation. He explained that the new movement aims to continue the struggle by focusing on electing credible and visionary leaders to Parliament.

Amisi criticized Linda Mwananchi for deviating from its founding principles and adopting political practices it initially opposed. He said, "Linda Mwananchi did not understand its initial assignment and has deviated from its original course. That is why I want to form a new movement that will continue with the struggle."

Addressing his absence from recent Linda Mwananchi events, including a rally in his own constituency of Trans Nzoia County, Amisi stated that attending every rally is not mandatory for membership. He maintained that his commitment remains intact despite physical absences.
