Mary Jo Campbell, grandmother to Kim Kardashian and matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner family, passed away on July 16 at a Los Angeles hospital at age 91, just days before her 92nd birthday.

A death certificate obtained by Us Weekly disclosed that Campbell's immediate cause of death was acute cardiopulmonary arrest. It also cited acute respiratory failure and metastatic lung cancer as contributing factors, indicating she had been battling the illness for several months.

Campbell was cremated on July 23, with no autopsy performed.

Kris Jenner Pays Tribute

Kris Jenner, Campbell’s daughter, announced her mother’s passing on Instagram the same day, describing her as "the heart of our family." She reflected on the values her mother imparted, including unconditional love, resilience, and faith.

"Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ," Jenner wrote. "There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye."

Jenner expressed gratitude for her mother’s sacrifices and wisdom, emphasizing the joy and love she brought to the family.
