Coast politician Aisha Jumwa has officially left President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.
Announcing her decision on Thursday, Jumwa explained that the move came after a period of deep reflection, prayer, and extensive consultations with her constituents. She described the choice as one of the toughest in her political career.
Jumwa, who previously served as the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage under President Ruto’s administration, emphasized that her departure was motivated by her commitment to the people she represents.
Her exit marks a significant shift in the political landscape at the Coast, where she has been a prominent figure.
