The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested seven current and former senior officials of Nakuru County Government in connection with an alleged procurement fraud amounting to more than Sh120 million.

The investigation revealed that Lorna Karamuta Mubichi, an Economist II at the County Government, is suspected of facilitating contracts through companies owned by her husband while still holding office. The firms involved include Denken Building & Construction Limited, Murinchamba Investments Limited, and Windcom Solutions Limited.

Between the 2020/2021 and 2024/2025 financial years, these companies were awarded 29 contracts and received cumulative payments totaling Sh120,042,417. The EACC's probe centers on a conflict of interest and fraudulent procurement practices within the county's administration.

The arrests highlight ongoing efforts by anti-corruption authorities to address graft in county governments and ensure accountability in public procurement processes.
