Authorities in Eldoret have detained eight individuals suspected of involvement in the distribution of counterfeit fertiliser. The operation led to the seizure of thousands of bags of the fake product.

Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Wilberforce Sicharani confirmed that officers confiscated 500 bags in Moiben, 4,000 bags in Kabenes, and an additional 74 bags at Ziwa Machine. The fertiliser is currently secured at Ainabkoi Police Station, where samples have been collected for laboratory analysis.

County Commissioner Dr. Eddyson Nyale revealed that the counterfeit fertiliser was intended for Narok County. He also noted that one of the suspects is a repeat offender and that efforts to apprehend other accomplices are ongoing, with an intensified manhunt underway.
