Gospel musician Guardian Angel has shared the challenges he faced within church circles after marrying Esther Musila, a woman two decades his senior.
Speaking at a public event, the artist revealed that prior to meeting Esther, he was deeply involved in church activities, often performing at events every day of the week. This intense commitment left little room for personal relationships, leading some acquaintances to find partners elsewhere.
"Before I met my wife, I was very busy. I was playing in churches every day, Monday to Monday," he explained, highlighting how his social life revolved around ministry work.
Church Reaction to His Marriage
Guardian Angel described feeling hurt when church members, who were once close to him, criticised his relationship once it became public knowledge. The main point of contention was the significant age gap between him and Esther.
"They told me to find love outside the church. Then when I found it, they judged me," he said, pointing to the contradictory attitudes he encountered.
He also noted that as he stepped back from his demanding church schedule, others have taken over his roles, saying, "Now I'm not busy. Now they have replaced me," with a mix of humour and resignation.
