Lang’ata Member of Parliament Jalang’o has sparked widespread discussion following his recent comments on President William Ruto’s chances of securing a second term in the 2027 general elections.
Addressing nearly 8,000 Community Health Promoters (CHPs) gathered at State House, Jalang’o commended government efforts to support CHPs through Social Health Authority premiums and pledged resources including smartphones and medical kits to enhance digital healthcare delivery.
During the same event, he took a jab at former ODM secretary-general Edwin Sifuna’s public paybill fundraiser, questioning the necessity of such measures for political campaigns.
In a subsequent interview with former radio host Alex Mwakideu, Jalang’o confidently outlined three scenarios that could prevent President Ruto from winning re-election:
- A road accident
- Loss of mental capacity
- Death
He expressed faith that divine protection would shield the president from these possibilities, reinforcing his belief that Ruto will retain the presidency in 2027.
Jalang’o’s remarks have elicited mixed reactions on social media, with some users praising his confidence while others criticized his alignment with Ruto’s camp.
