A Nairobi resident has appealed to the public for assistance in identifying a woman he accuses of drugging him and stealing more than KSh 200,000 at a club in Kahawa West.
The incident, which occurred on July 26, 2026, came to light after CCTV footage from the club circulated widely on social media. The video shows the man seemingly making a payment at a point-of-sale terminal, with the woman standing beside him and appearing to assist with the transaction.
The man claims that after meeting the woman at the venue, she tampered with his drink, leaving him incapacitated and vulnerable to theft.
Growing Concern Over 'Mchele Babes'
This case has reignited public concern over the rising trend of so-called "mchele babes"—women who allegedly drug men in Nairobi's nightlife spots to steal from them.
Mixed Public Reactions
The video sparked varied responses online. Some expressed sympathy for the victim, while others criticized the decision to carry large sums of cash to a nightclub or to share drinks with strangers.
- @Grace Ofula: "When you were looking for her, did you appeal to the public for help??? Pambana na hali bro"
- @Joyce Kinuthia: "Men will never learn. Why invite a stranger to your table knowing very well they will put something on your drink ??"
- @Samuel Ogetii: "Let him go back to the same club, she is probably just there chilling waiting for another prey"
The man continues to urge anyone who recognizes the woman in the footage to come forward with information.
