Valentine Aja, a third-year student at Kaimosi Teachers Training College (TTC), died shortly after completing her teaching practice placement at Evojo Primary School in Sabatia, Vihiga County.
Last Thursday, the school held an appreciation ceremony to honour the Kaimosi TTC trainees for their dedication during the teaching practice period. Aja was present at the event, which celebrated her and her peers' contributions to the school community.
Tragically, she passed away soon after following a sudden illness. Her death has deeply affected fellow trainees, the school staff, and the local community.
Aja was the firstborn and only daughter in her family, a fact that has intensified the grief among her loved ones. Many who knew her expressed shock at the rapid decline in her health, especially after seeing her just days earlier at the public event.
