Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has announced a tour of Kajiado County aimed at revitalising grassroots support for his Wantam agenda ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a statement shared on his social media platforms on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, Musyoka revealed plans to visit Imaroro Ward as part of his efforts to deepen mobilisation and rally backing for his political vision.

He urged Kenyans in Kajiado to unite and push for change, stating: “ENTASUPA POOKI, ILMAASAI LE KAJIADO! Tukutane Imaroro Ward tuendeleze ajenda ya WANTAM. Huu ni wakati wetu wa kusimama imara, kuing’oa hii regime, na kukomboa Kenya.”

Musyoka further emphasised the growing momentum of the Wiper movement, calling for national unity to achieve a free and transformed Kenya. “Azimio letu limeongezeka. Kenya lazima iwe huru. Tukomboe,” he added.

Concerns Raised Over Opposition Campaign Visibility

The announcement follows public debate about Kalonzo’s relatively low profile compared to other opposition figures who have intensified political activities nationwide ahead of the upcoming polls.

Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua responded to questions on Kalonzo’s campaign pace by suggesting the inquiry be directed to the Wiper leader himself. He emphasised the need for opposition leaders to take responsibility for mobilising support across diverse regions rather than relying on their traditional strongholds.

Gachagua said: “Si mimi niko Meru, Sifuna wako Western. Kama akina Matiang’i wangefanya bidii aende Kisii, Kalonzo aende Kisii.” He argued that opposition leaders should collaboratively cover the country to build a robust national movement for the 2027 election challenge against President William Ruto.
