The Kenya Meteorological Department has issued a 24-hour weather forecast for Sunday, July 26, 2026, predicting rainfall in 21 counties across the country.

Showers are expected in parts of Uasin Gishu, Kisii, Nakuru, Kericho, Kakamega, Trans-Nzoia, Bungoma, Vihiga, Bomet, Nandi, Meru, Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Mombasa, Nyamira, Embu, Murang'a, Nyeri, and Nyandarua counties.

The Rift Valley and western regions are likely to experience the heaviest rainfall, with afternoon thunderstorms forecasted in Nakuru, Kericho, Trans-Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Bungoma, and West Pokot.

Central Kenya will experience cool and cloudy spells with intermittent showers in Nairobi, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Embu, Laikipia, Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Kitui, Machakos, Kajiado, and Makueni.

Coastal counties such as Mombasa and Kwale are expected to receive scattered morning showers that will clear by afternoon, giving way to sunny conditions.

Wind and Temperature Outlook

The department has also issued a wind advisory for the northern and coastal regions. Southerly to southeasterly winds exceeding 25 knots (approximately 12.5 meters per second) are anticipated in Marsabit, Isiolo, Garissa, Wajir, Tana River, Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kitui.

Temperature variations will be significant, with Mandera and Turkana counties recording the highest temperatures at 35°C. On the cooler side, Nyandarua is expected to have a low of 7°C overnight, while Laikipia and Samburu may experience lows around 10°C.
