Dr Victoria Nthunya Mutiso, a prominent clinical psychologist and mental health advocate in Kenya, was tragically killed in a targeted shooting on July 29 while travelling in an Uber near Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi.
According to police reports, a four-wheel-drive vehicle blocked the Uber taxi in the Upper Hill area before gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire, critically injuring Dr Mutiso. She was rushed to hospital but succumbed to her wounds.

Ongoing Investigation by DCI
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has taken over the case, deploying homicide detectives and forensic experts to lead a comprehensive probe. Investigators have conducted witness interviews, executed searches at locations linked to persons of interest, and collected evidence undergoing forensic analysis.
Currently, two suspects are in custody, with reports indicating that Dr Mutiso's husband is among those being interrogated. The DCI continues to pursue all leads as the investigation remains active.
