Kenyan football has lost a respected figure with the passing of veteran coach Abdallah Juma on Friday morning. He died at Thika Level Five Hospital in Kiambu County after battling prolonged illness.
His daughter, Amina Juma, revealed that the cause of death was multiple organ failure linked to low blood levels and sugar. The coach was laid to rest on Friday evening in Murang’a County following Islamic rites.

Abdallah's coaching career spanned over two decades, during which he earned a reputation for developing young players and building competitive teams. In 2013, he was honored as the Kenya Premier League Coach of the Year after guiding KCB FC to a commendable fourth-place finish with 47 points.
Throughout his career, he led several top-flight clubs including Thika United, Murang’a Seal, Sofapaka, Bidco United, Western Stima, Chemelil Sugar, and Vihiga Bullets. He also served as assistant coach at AFC Leopards. Known for his candidness, Abdallah spoke openly about issues such as match-fixing in Kenyan football.
