The Linda Mwananchi movement, under Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna's leadership, is accelerating its grassroots mobilisation efforts nationwide as it prepares for the 2027 General Election.

Following recent momentum, the movement plans to hold a series of meetings in Nairobi before proceeding to Meru County. This tour will be hosted by former Governor Kawira Mwangaza, who has recently allied with the movement.

Expanding Outreach Across Kenya

The campaign is currently active in Homa Bay County, with rallies scheduled in Nyandiwa, Sindo, and Homa Bay Town. Bumula MP Jack Wamboka emphasized the urgency of engaging voters directly on the ground rather than relying solely on political negotiations or online declarations.

"Political leaders must leave the boardrooms and go to the field to consolidate their support," Wamboka stated, outlining plans to return to Western Kenya to cover constituencies missed during earlier visits. The upcoming Western Kenya tour will include five constituencies in Vihiga, three in Kakamega, five in Bungoma, two in Trans Nzoia, and five in Busia counties, aiming to complete the tour within four days.

Building a Strong Grassroots Base

Former Deputy President and Democracy for the Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua has also urged United Opposition principals to prioritise grassroots mobilisation, highlighting that electoral success depends on voter numbers.

Linda Mwananchi spokesperson Caroli Omondi confirmed the movement's commitment to expanding its presence across regions including Mt Kenya, Western Kenya, Nyanza, and others, providing residents opportunities to engage with its political agenda.

Senator Sifuna reiterated the movement’s focus on listening to ordinary Kenyans and shaping the campaign from the grassroots up. "Linda Mwananchi is not about a few individuals sitting in Nairobi deciding for Kenyans; it is about going to the people and understanding their needs," he said.
