Police in Ruiru have detained a 35-year-old man suspected of carrying out a series of violent robberies involving biting victims. The arrest took place near the Powerstar area after locals apprehended the man following an incident where he bit a woman.
Incident Details
The woman revealed that she had been socializing with the suspect before he suddenly became aggressive at a guest house, biting her finger and tearing part of her lower lip. Her cries for help attracted nearby residents who intervened and alerted the authorities.
Police Response
Ruiru Sub-county police commander Charles Kibathi confirmed the arrest, noting the suspect was heavily intoxicated at the time. Both the suspect and the victim were taken to hospital for medical treatment. Investigations are ongoing to establish if the man is connected to other recent attacks in Ruiru and the neighboring Gitothua Ward.
