The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has announced the opening of applications for its September to November 2026 Industrial Attachment Programme. This three-month initiative offers final-year students in journalism and communication hands-on experience within reputable media organisations nationwide.
Eligibility and Application Requirements
The programme targets students in their final year of degree or diploma courses in fields such as Journalism, Media Studies, Communications, Digital Communication, or Corporate Communication at accredited Kenyan institutions.
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- A recommendation letter from their institution issued within the last two months confirming the attachment period
- Current academic transcripts
- A valid student identification card
- A 2026 Media Council of Kenya Student Press Card
- Samples of journalistic work, including published articles or relevant media projects
Placement Opportunities
Successful candidates will be placed in recognised media houses across Kenya, gaining experience in various departments such as print journalism, radio and television broadcasting, technical production, and digital content creation.
The MCK emphasises that the programme is designed to bridge the gap between academic training and industry demands, preparing students for the job market.
