Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has urged Kenyans to support a new wave of youthful political leaders, emphasizing the need for fresh perspectives in the country’s governance.
In a statement released on July 29, 2026, Amisi highlighted prominent figures such as Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, DCP Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala, Nyali MP Mohammed Ali, and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino as examples of emerging leaders who should be given a platform to influence Kenya’s future.
Amisi noted that Kenya has been governed by the same political elite for over 60 years, and it is time to allow younger leaders to take center stage. He questioned why financial resources should be the primary measure of leadership capability and encouraged leaders like Sifuna to remain undeterred by critics.
Amisi stated:
- “The country needs to give a listening ear to emerging young leaders like Sifuna, Ndindi Nyoro, Caleb Amisi, Malala, Mohammed Ali, Babu, among others.”
- “We have been under the yoke of the same old cabal of leaders for 60 years. Why not try the youth? Why should money be a factor in measuring leadership?”
- “Sifuna, do not be discouraged by naysayers. Push on. Kenya needs a renaissance!”
This call aligns with recent remarks from DCP Deputy Leader Cleophas Malala, who has advocated for a generational change in leadership, arguing that politicians linked to the KANU era should phase out by 2032.
Malala criticized veteran politicians who continue to seek power despite long tenures, citing Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi’s announced 2032 presidential bid as an example of this persistence.
