Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has recently offered the public a glimpse into the construction of his new multi-storey mansion, marking a significant upgrade from his previous modest residence.

The ongoing project features a contemporary architectural style characterized by clean geometric lines, flat rooflines, and expansive balconies with sleek black metal railings. Large black-framed glass windows dominate the facade, contrasting sharply with the white and grey exterior walls.

Photos shared by Salasya show the building still surrounded by scaffolding and construction materials, signaling active development. Despite the scale of the mansion, Salasya emphasized the communal spirit involved in the project, sharing images of a damaged roof section that community members helped dismantle.

"Hapa ni kwangu hadi walikuja kunibomea nyumba the whole community," Salasya wrote, highlighting the strong participation of the Luhya people in communal activities such as this.

This sentiment reflects the deeper cultural values of unity and mutual support within his community, which Salasya proudly associates with his home county.

His recent posts have sparked widespread discussion on social media, especially following his comments comparing his mansion to the modest home of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.
