Nairobi City County has launched a rigorous campaign to recover outstanding land rates, targeting property owners who have defaulted for more than three years. This move aims to strengthen revenue collection critical for funding public services and infrastructure.
Debt Recovery Firms Assigned Across Nairobi
In a notice dated July 30, 2026, the Nairobi Revenue Authority (NRA) announced the appointment of six debt recovery firms, each assigned to specific boroughs to ensure comprehensive coverage:
- Siuma Auctioneers: Western Borough (Westlands, Dagoretti South and North)
- Prysis Solutions Limited: Northern Borough (Roysambu, Kasarani, Ruaraka)
- Jephys Auctioneers: Central Borough (Starehe, Kamukunji, Mathare)
- Boresha Credit Services Limited: South Eastern Borough (Embakasi South, Embakasi East, Makadara)
- Quest Holdings Limited: Eastern Borough (Embakasi North, Embakasi West, Embakasi Central)
- AFS Holdings Limited: Southern Borough (Kibra, Lang’ata)
Enforcement Measures and Payment Instructions
The county warns that defaulters will face enforcement without further notice, including possible property attachment and auction, legal action, and listing with Credit Reference Bureaus (CRBs), pursuant to the National Rating Act 2024.
Payments must be made directly to official Nairobi City County revenue accounts to prevent fraud. The county urges property owners to settle arrears promptly and cooperate fully with the appointed agents.
