The Nairobi Revenue Authority (NRA) has initiated a comprehensive debt recovery campaign targeting property owners with unpaid land rates exceeding three years, including accrued penalties and interest.
Effective immediately across all Nairobi boroughs, the authority has contracted six specialised debt recovery agencies to manage collections in designated areas:
- Western Borough: Siuma Auctioneers
- Northern Borough: Prysis Solutions Limited
- Central Borough: Jephys Auctioneers
- South Eastern Borough: Boresha Credit Services Limited
- Eastern Borough: Quest Holdings Limited
- Southern Borough: AFS Holdings Limited
Tiras Njoroge, NRA's receiver of revenue, cautioned that failure to clear outstanding balances will lead to enforcement actions without further warnings. Under the National Rating Act 2024, these measures may include property attachment and auction, listing with the Credit Reference Bureau (CRB), and other statutory recovery procedures.
Property owners are also urged to make payments solely through authorised Nairobi City County Revenue accounts to avoid fraud.
