The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has initiated investigations into former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku, and five additional leaders over accusations of hate speech and incitement.
In a joint statement with the Interreligious Council of Kenya, NCIC indicated the probe follows remarks believed to threaten inter-community relations.

NCIC Chairperson Kepha Omae stressed that all individuals under investigation will receive due process and that their rights will be protected until proven otherwise.
"These investigations are conducted strictly according to the law. We assure the public that no one’s position or public standing will influence the process," Omae stated.
Collaboration and Public Role
The commission confirmed it will collaborate with investigative bodies including the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), and the National Police Service (NPS) to ensure accountability.
Omae urged citizens to report any cases of hate speech or incitement through formal complaints or petitions to aid in investigations.
