Kenya's premier practical shooters demonstrated remarkable skill and precision during the IPSC President's Championship held at Hado Shooting Range in Naivasha. The four-day event, one of the largest practical shooting competitions in Kenya this year, featured more than 60 elite marksmen from civilian clubs, disciplined services, and international teams.
Competitors faced 18 challenging courses designed to test speed, accuracy, and composure under pressure. In the Production Division, Ibrahim Ndung'u claimed the top spot, while Pravir Vohra secured victory in the highly competitive Standard Division. South Africa's Johan Otto won the Optics Division, with Kenya's Morris Mureithi dominating the Production Optics category.
Other notable winners included Issa Issa in the Open Division and Geoffrey Pesa in the Pistol Calibre Carbine (PCC) Division. Agatha Muchiri from the Kenya Defence Forces earned the prestigious High Lady title after an outstanding performance.
The championship was organized by the Kenya Sports Shooting Federation (KSSF) and featured participants from the Kenya Defence Forces, National Police Service, Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Kenya Prisons Service, General Service Unit, and various civilian clubs.
Organizers praised the event as a significant milestone in the growth of practical shooting within Kenya. They highlighted the high level of professionalism and talent displayed by the competitors, emphasizing the intense pressure to perform flawlessly against the clock and targets.
Looking ahead, the next IPSC Level III Handgun Championship is scheduled for November at the Bamburi Rifle Club in Mombasa, promising another exciting competition for Kenya's shooting community.
