Nyandarua Governor Moses Kiarie, popularly known as 'Badilisha,' officially left the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) on Wednesday to join the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), led by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

This move marks the latest high-profile defection from UDA in the Mt Kenya region, highlighting a changing political landscape ahead of upcoming elections.

Speaking on the development, DP Gachagua emphasized that the opportunity for politicians interested in joining DCP was rapidly closing, signaling a consolidation of support within the party.

The shift by Governor Badilisha underscores the growing appeal of DCP in Mt Kenya, a region that has traditionally been a political stronghold for various parties.
