Prominent rapper and Kibra parliamentary aspirant Henry Ohanga, popularly known as Octopizzo, has sparked discussion after publicly backing the opposition.

On July 25, Octopizzo posted images from the Linda Mwananchi rally in Bungoma, led by Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna. The event drew large crowds, with supporters climbing trees to catch a glimpse of Sifuna and MP Babu Owino, who were seen standing atop an SUV addressing attendees.

This display of support came just days after Octopizzo hosted George Ruto, son of President William Ruto, at his family home in Ugunja, Siaya County. The two were photographed together during George Ruto’s visit, which included stops in Kisumu where George handed over a bus to Kisumu All Stars, a pledge from the president.

Octopizzo’s interactions with both the ruling party’s prominent figures and opposition leaders have left many Kenyans intrigued about his political direction. While some interpret this as strategic positioning ahead of the general elections, others are curious if it signals a genuine shift.
