The 2026 Prinsloo 7s tournament has reached the quarter-final stage after a dynamic opening day at Nakuru Athletic Club, featuring unbeaten pool leaders, surprising upsets, and strong performances from emerging teams.
Quarter-Finalists Confirmed
- MMUST Rugby secured top spot in Pool B with wins over defending champions Strathmore Leos, Daystar Falcons, and Kisumu RFC, earning a quarter-final clash against Kenya Harlequins at 11:20 am on Sunday.
- Kenya Harlequins advanced despite a narrow loss to Kabras RFC, having previously defeated Embu RFC and Mwamba RFC.
- Kabras RFC remain unbeaten and will continue their campaign in the knockout stage.
- The Sugarmen topped Pool A emphatically, highlighted by a 47-0 win over Embu RFC and a close victory against Kenya Harlequins, setting up a quarter-final against Daystar Falcons at 10:40 am.
- Daystar Falcons impressed with a commanding win over Kisumu RFC and secured second place in Pool B to reach the last eight.
- KU Blak Blad, tournament newcomers, made a strong debut by winning all their Pool D matches, including victories over hosts Nakuru RFC, Menengai Oilers, and Impala RFC, and will face Nondescripts RFC at 11:00 am.
- Nondescripts RFC advanced after wins against Catholic Monks and NYS Spades.
- KCB Rugby, the defending National Sevens Circuit champions, remain unbeaten and will meet hosts Nakuru RFC at 11:40 am. Nakuru bounced back from an opening loss to KU Blak Blad with wins over Impala RFC and Menengai Oilers.
