President William Ruto has commended the Hustler Fund, officially known as the Financial Inclusion Fund, for its role in transforming the financial landscape for millions of Kenyans. The fund has disbursed Ksh90 billion to 28 million borrowers through three main products: Personal Loan, Bridge Loan, and Hustler Groups.
Speaking on July 29, 2026, after receiving a progress report on the fund, Ruto emphasized the government’s dedication to sustaining and expanding the programme to provide more affordable credit options for businesses and individuals across the country.
Key Achievements of the Hustler Fund
- Ksh90 billion disbursed to 28 million borrowers.
- An average of Ksh50 million lent daily, reflecting increasing demand.
- 10 million repeat customers, indicating trust and responsible borrowing.
- 4.5 million borrowers have improved credit scores (A and B) due to timely repayments.

President Ruto also highlighted the fund’s fully digital platform, which has streamlined access to financial services, making the process faster, more transparent, and more convenient for users.
"We will continue resourcing the fund so that Kenyans can continue accessing the most affordable credit in the country," he affirmed, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering financial inclusion and empowering entrepreneurs traditionally underserved by conventional banking.
