Safaricom has provided clarity on how late repayments affect customers' Fuliza M-Pesa overdraft limits. The company emphasized that the original limit is not guaranteed if a customer delays repayment.

Repayment Patterns Influence Limits

Responding to a customer query on Facebook about whether a Fuliza limit remains the same after a two-month delay in repayment, Safaricom explained that loan repayment behaviour influences limit reviews. Customers who take longer to clear their Fuliza balances may see adjustments to their limits during periodic assessments.

Access Restrictions After 30 Days

According to Safaricom's Fuliza guidelines, customers with unpaid balances beyond 30 days lose access to the overdraft facility until the debt is fully settled. Once the outstanding amount is cleared, access is restored, but the previous limit may not be reinstated immediately.

Quarterly Limit Reviews

Fuliza limits are reviewed every three months based on usage and repayment history. This means limits can increase or decrease over time depending on customer behaviour.

Using Fuliza

  • Fuliza allows eligible M-Pesa users to complete transactions even with insufficient account funds.
  • It supports payments via Lipa Na M-Pesa, paybill, money transfers, and withdrawals within M-Pesa transaction limits.
  • Customers can check their limit, outstanding balance, and mini-statements using the *334# menu.

Safaricom advises customers to maintain timely repayments to preserve or improve their Fuliza limits.
