The family of the late Sharon Otieno has broken their silence following the High Court's conviction of former Migori Governor Okoth Obado, his former personal assistant Michael Oyamo, and former Migori County Clerk Caspal Obiero for her murder.
During a thanksgiving service held on July 25, 2026, at Magare God Seventh-day Adventist Church in Homa Bay County, Sharon’s parents, Melida Auma and Douglas Otieno, shared their journey of grief and the relief brought by the court’s ruling.

Sharon Otieno was a 26-year-old pregnant student at Rongo University when she was found murdered in September 2018.
