On Sunday, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna engaged residents of Kiminini, Trans-Nzoia, in a roadside fundraiser supporting the Linda Mwananchi caravan during its stopover in the town.

As contributions poured in, Sifuna personally collected donations from the crowd, initially holding the money in his hands before passing a carton box around to accommodate the growing support. Residents contributed both notes and coins, demonstrating strong community backing.

Speaking from atop his vehicle, a passionate Sifuna expressed gratitude to the Kiminini community, noting that the funds raised were sufficient to cover travel expenses to Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kitale.

Accompanied by Trans-Nzoia Governor George Natembea and other members of the Linda Mwananchi team, Sifuna emphasized his preference to rely on grassroots support rather than large donations from wealthy individuals who might later impose demands once the campaign forms government in 2027.

This stance aligns with his recent rejection of a Ksh 1 billion fundraising offer from Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli, highlighting his commitment to small contributions from millions of Kenyans.

The Linda Mwananchi caravan is actively campaigning in Bungoma County, following its recent tour of Trans-Nzoia County.
