Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has disclosed the financial scale of the Linda Mwananchi movement’s political rallies as it intensifies its mobilization efforts across Kenya.
During a July 28 interview on Citizen TV, Sifuna stated that each rally organised by the movement costs approximately KSh 2.5 million. These expenditures cover essentials such as stages, sound equipment, DJs, security, and other logistics.
Upcoming Rally Destinations
Following recent rallies in Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties, the movement plans to hold events in Homa Bay and Meru counties. Sifuna noted that sufficient funds have been raised to support these upcoming gatherings, but final decisions on locations will be made collectively by the leadership team.
"Just be patient. We will be able to announce a new calendar of events by the end of the week," he added.
Fundraising Progress
Sifuna also highlighted the public’s financial support for the movement, revealing that contributions through the movement’s paybill had reached about KSh 6.5 million as of July 28.
"I continue to be eternally grateful because Kenyans are changing the conversation. In mature democracies, it is the public that finances leaders to enable them to run for office," he said.
