Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna's Linda Mwananchi tour progresses into its second day with a packed schedule of political events across Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties. The day’s activities conclude with a significant rally at Posta Grounds in Bungoma Town.
The itinerary begins at 7 am with a mass service at St Immaculate Cathedral. Afterwards, the delegation will travel to Bungoma County, making stops at Kiminini Town at 9 am and Kimilili Town at 11 am. By noon, Sifuna will address a roadside rally in Chwele before heading to Bungoma Town for what organisers have termed the "mother of all rallies" at Posta Grounds.
The Linda Mwananchi movement has called on supporters to contribute to the campaign via its official paybill number, emphasizing that donations will support ongoing mobilisation efforts.
Growing Momentum in Western Kenya
This two-day homecoming tour marks a critical phase in Sifuna's political journey, seen by many as the launchpad for a broader national campaign ahead of the 2027 General Election. The events are expected to draw thousands of supporters and senior opposition figures from across Kenya.
Political analysts suggest the tour could significantly influence Western Kenya’s political dynamics. Reports indicate that several leaders from ODM and other parties are preparing to publicly back Sifuna's emerging movement.
Polls and Political Strategy
The tour follows the latest TIFA opinion poll showing Sifuna's presidential support rising from 10% in May to 15% in June 2026 — the largest gain among top contenders. Meanwhile, support for former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i declined, with President William Ruto's approval steady at 24%.
Sources close to the campaign say the Bungoma rally will unveil a comprehensive political strategy ahead of the 2027 elections. It is also expected to solidify Sifuna's role as a leading voice within the Luhya community and launch a nationwide mobilisation drive.
