In the early hours of Sunday, suspected al-Shabaab militants targeted a Safaricom telecommunications mast situated within a school compound in Abakaile village, Dadaab, Garissa County.
The attack, which occurred near the Kenya-Somalia border, left local residents and school staff shaken. Authorities reported that the metallic door of the mast was partially damaged, though no explosives were found and no extensive destruction was reported.
Police arrived at the scene around 4 a.m., ensuring the safety of all teachers present at the school, with no injuries recorded.
Security forces have cordoned off the area and plan to conduct a thorough search and investigation at first light to assess the full extent of the damage and collect evidence.
