TikTok intensified its global content moderation efforts in the first quarter of 2026, removing a total of 184,012,576 videos across its platform. This figure represents about 0.5% of all videos uploaded during that period worldwide.
The majority of removals were driven by automated detection systems, which identified and took down 178,014,154 videos. Live streaming content also underwent rigorous enforcement, with 58,207,389 live sessions flagged for violations related to monetisation policies. Consequently, 21,996,671 live stream creators faced enforcement actions.
Another critical area targeted by TikTok was synthetic and manipulated media. The platform removed 14,261 videos under its policies on edited media and AI-generated content. To increase transparency, TikTok now mandates that realistic AI-generated content must be clearly labelled. This initiative has so far covered more than 3 billion videos globally.
