Between January and March 2026, TikTok significantly increased enforcement of its community guidelines in Kenya, removing a total of 884,591 videos identified as violating platform rules.
A report released by TikTok on July 23 reveals that automated detection systems proactively flagged 99.7% of these videos, with 96.3% taken down within 24 hours of being posted. This rapid response highlights the platform's commitment to maintaining content standards.
Focus on Underage Users and Live Broadcasts
In an effort to protect younger users, TikTok deleted 48,739 accounts suspected to belong to individuals under the age of 13. The platform also targeted live streaming violations, interrupting 103,847 live rooms that breached community guidelines.
Video Reinstatements and Synthetic Media Policies
Following further review processes, TikTok reinstated 8,838,710 videos that were initially removed. Additionally, the platform has implemented policies requiring realistic AI-generated content to be clearly labeled. To date, TikTok’s AI labeling efforts have covered over 3 billion videos globally.
