A tragic incident in Trans Nzoia County claimed the lives of a young couple, Daisy and Tonny, following a suspected gas explosion at their home early one morning.
According to family members, Daisy had woken up early to prepare breakfast for her husband, Tonny, as part of her daily routine. However, a suspected gas leak caused an explosion that led to both inhaling toxic gas throughout the night.
Neighbours quickly rushed the couple to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret, but despite medical efforts, Tonny passed away first, followed by Daisy.
Recent Engagement Celebration
The couple had joyfully celebrated their engagement in December 2025, marking the beginning of their life together with a warm pre-wedding ceremony surrounded by loved ones. Their untimely deaths have deeply shocked their community, who are grappling with the sudden loss.
Funeral Arrangements and Support
- Tonny was laid to rest on July 22, 2026.
- Daisy’s burial is scheduled for July 28, 2026, at Biribiriet Farm in Cherang'any, Makutano.
- The funeral budget for Daisy is estimated at KSh 500,000; her family has raised KSh 200,000, while Tonny’s family seeks to raise the remaining KSh 300,000.
