The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced a significant promotion exercise targeting 34,016 teachers across 30 different cadres in both primary and secondary schools.

According to an advertisement signed by TSC acting CEO Evaleen Mitei, qualified teachers are invited to apply for positions ranging from Group C2 to D5, aligned with the commission's Career Progression Guidelines.

Promotion Vacancies Across Multiple Roles

The exercise covers a wide spectrum of roles including senior school leadership, teaching positions, curriculum support, and lecturer roles. Key vacancies include:

  • 54 Chief Principal and 7 Chief Principal (Teacher Training Colleges) positions in Grade D5
  • 148 Senior Principal and 7 Senior Principal (TTC) posts in Group D4
  • 770 Principal (Grade D3), 7 Principal (TTC), and 6 Principal (Special Needs Education) roles
  • 891 Deputy Principal II (Grade D2) positions
  • 199 Senior Headteacher and 5 Senior Headteacher (SNE) vacancies
  • 1,865 Deputy Headteacher I and 3,075 Deputy Headteacher II slots
  • 13,490 Senior Teacher II positions, the largest single cadre in the promotion exercise
  • Additional roles in curriculum support, senior masters, and lecturers across regular and Special Needs Education (SNE) institutions

Application Details

Interested teachers who meet the required qualifications are encouraged to apply online via the TSC portal by midnight on Monday, August 10. Manual applications will not be accepted.

Successful candidates will be deployed to schools with available vacancies. The commission also encourages applications from teachers with disabilities.

All submissions will be evaluated according to the Career Progression Guidelines for each cadre.
