The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has apprehended two individuals considered persons of interest in the fatal shooting of renowned clinical psychologist and mental health researcher, Dr Victoria Nthunya Mutiso.
The arrests come as homicide detectives, supported by forensic and specialized investigative teams, continue probing the circumstances surrounding the incident that occurred on July 29, 2026, in Nairobi's Upper Hill area.

Details of the Incident
Dr Mutiso was attacked while traveling in a taxi near Kenyatta National Hospital. According to police reports, two gunmen on a motorcycle blocked the taxi and opened fire at close range. She sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Authorities believe the attack was targeted, with indications that the assailants followed Dr Mutiso from her Kilimani residence.
