Jeffrey Olsen, a Utah resident, survived a tragic 1997 car accident that claimed the lives of his wife Tamara and their 14-month-old son Griffin. Olsen has since shared his extraordinary near-death experiences that followed the crash, which he says helped him cope with his profound grief and physical injuries.
At the time of the accident, Olsen was 33 years old and driving his family home when he reportedly dozed off at the wheel. The vehicle rolled multiple times, killing Tamara and Griffin instantly. Their eldest son survived but was found crying at the scene.
Severe Injuries and Recovery

Speaking on the Afterlife Revealed podcast, Olsen recounted his soul leaving his body at the crash site. He described being enveloped in light and encountering his wife, who appeared unharmed and urged him to return to life.
"It felt like I was home," Olsen said, noting the comfort and familiarity of the place he visited. Weeks later, while hospitalized, he experienced a second episode where he felt himself ascend to a beautiful, indescribable realm often referred to as heaven or the spirit world.
Impact on Life
Before the accident, Olsen led a relatively ordinary life, growing up on a farm and later pursuing college football and a marketing career. He credits these afterlife visions with providing the inner strength necessary to survive the emotional and physical toll of the tragedy.
"Without these experiences, I doubt I could have endured the loss of Tamara and Griffin," he reflected.
