Media personality and Kisumu senatorial aspirant Willis Raburu was involved in a minor accident on Sunday, July 26, during the Linda Mwananchi campaign rally.

Raburu was part of a convoy en route to Bungoma for a homecoming event for Edwin Sifuna, the principal of the Linda Mwananchi movement. While traveling on a motorbike behind the main procession, Raburu was struck by a car and fell, sustaining minor injuries.

In a video recorded shortly after the incident, Raburu described the event from the roadside. Wearing a Linda Mwananchi campaign shirt, he showed visible bruises and dust marks on his body but assured supporters that his injuries were slight and that he was unharmed overall.

He explained, "I was left behind by campaign cars. I am on a motorbike, and we are team Wantam. I was hit by a car and fell. We are chasing the convoy. The emcee is behind with a microphone, but we will reach them. I suffered slight injuries, nothing much. Those are the rules of war."

Despite the fall, Raburu quickly rejoined the convoy and continued with the campaign journey to Bungoma. In a social media post, he framed the accident as a testament to his dedication, stating, "Dedication… some random car hit me on the road. Campaign trails can be intense! But Niko sawa. I fell and got some bruises, but I'm ok. Nothing can stop a movement whose time has come! Caught up to the caravan, and we kept it 100%."

Related Incident in Trans Nzoia

Separately, Bungoma senatorial aspirant Evans Kakai and members of his team were involved in a road accident on the Sibanga-Kitale Highway while heading to a rally in Trans Nzoia. Their vehicle overturned after losing control, injuring Kakai and several supporters who were reportedly hanging on the outside of the vehicle.

This incident raised public concern about the dangers of clinging to moving vehicles during political rallies, with calls for safer practices to protect both participants and other road users.
