A Kenyan woman took the unusual step of reporting her husband to local authorities, accusing him of neglecting his responsibilities to their large family. The man reportedly fathered approximately 27 children but failed to provide basic needs for them.

In a video shared by NTV Uganda, the husband expressed that supporting such a large family was beyond his capacity. However, the wife detailed her expectations for him to provide education, healthcare, shelter, clothing, and food for the children.

She alleged that while the children survived on omena (silverfish), the husband enjoyed meals of meat and chicken with other women, having taken up relationships outside their home. The woman also claimed that he sometimes disappeared for up to a year without contact.

Adding complexity to the situation, the woman revealed they were never formally married and that she had welcomed him into her home. Despite the hardships and grievances, she confessed to still loving him.

This case has drawn public attention to challenges faced by large families and the strains of parental responsibility in such circumstances.
