Detectives in Kakamega County have opened an investigation following the death of 24-year-old Nehemiah Okwaro, who was reportedly abducted from his residence in Mumias West Sub-County.

According to the victim's sister, a group of individuals arrived at their home late at night carrying a bright torch. They forcibly entered the house and took Nehemiah, also known as "Zeddy," while the sister was asleep.

The body was discovered the next morning around 7 a.m. on a nearby murram road. Authorities found Nehemiah lying in a pool of blood with multiple deep cuts on his neck, head, hands, chest, and legs. Preliminary findings suggest the injuries were caused by a sharp object.

The motive behind the killing remains unclear. Crime scene investigators have documented the scene, and the body was transported to Butere Sub-County Hospital Mortuary pending a post-mortem examination.

Police continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the abduction and murder, aiming to identify those responsible.
