The American, aiming for her 12th career WTA title and third this year, described the upcoming final as a challenging encounter and praised Eala as a rising star in the sport.
In their only prior meeting, Pegula defeated Eala at the 2025 Miami semifinals. However, Eala highlighted the improvements in her game since then, including enhanced physical conditioning and stroke development.
