Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula has urged President William Ruto to take action against individuals allegedly leaking confidential information from State House to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Speaking at a public event on August 1, 2026, Savula expressed concern over how opposition leaders reportedly accessed details of the President’s State of the Nation Address before it was officially delivered. He warned that such leaks undermine the presidency’s integrity.

"How did they find out? How did they find out? How did they find out? This Riggy G must be dealt with so we know the source of the leaks," Savula said, emphasizing that the President’s office should not be compromised.
He lamented that the speech's contents were apparently known to opposition figures minutes before the official presentation, a claim he made without providing supporting evidence. Notably, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was among the first to preview the President’s address and vowed to continue sharing such information.
Focus on 2027 and Deputy President Debates
Savula dismissed ongoing debates about the deputy president’s role, urging Kenya Kwanza coalition members to prioritize supporting President Ruto in completing his term.
- "We are not interested in minor positions like the deputy president seat; our focus should be on helping our young leader from Sugoi finish his term as Kenya’s President," he said.
