Ryan Yator, a young scholar from Mormorio Village in Baringo North, is set to begin postgraduate studies at Goldsmiths, University of London, this September. His academic journey highlights a remarkable rise from a modest primary school score to international academic recognition.
Ryan sat for his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams in 2015, scoring 267 marks at Mormorio Primary School. He then attended Kapchepkor Secondary School, where he emerged as the top candidate in the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) class, earning the only direct university admission from his cohort.
Academic Progression
Initially enrolling in a Bachelor of Economics program at the University of Kabianga, Ryan shifted his focus in 2021 to pursue a Bachelor of Education, specialising in Mathematics and Physics. This strategic change culminated in him graduating with First Class Honours.
Ryan's exemplary academic record earned him admission to the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) programme in Physics at Goldsmiths, University of London. To secure his place, he successfully passed all interview requirements and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam.
